You may have heard of information from the government that Dance schools can open from 4th July.
We at KH are committed to the safety of our staff, pupils and families and will not open until we can have all safety measures in place.
The well-being of our pupils has always been at the forefront of KH which is why our on line classes and workshops have been put in place until our end of term on Saturday 18th July.
We will keep you posted of further developments as they arrive. In the meantime we hope the remaining days of term continue to be as supportive and creative for everyone.
Studio Refurbishment - COVID-19
We are raising funds to help support Kirkham Henry overcome the impact of COVID-19. The studios require new windows to help with ventilation.
We are a newly established charity formed during the Coronavirus pandemic to raise funds to help support Kirkham Henry Performing Arts to recover from losses due to the lockdown closure.
Kirkham Henry Performing Arts is a community interest company. Not for Profit.
We want to be able to provide the best possible environment for all pupils and we are starting with looking to fund new windows in the centre to aid ventilation.
Kirkham Henry provides a significant service to the community in Ryedale and beyond. We have pupils aged from 2years old and also hold classes for adults, dancing with Parkinsons and the partially sighted. We are also a Makaton friendly school.
The impact of COVID-19 has been phenomenal in many ways but we are raring to go to get back to dancing, singing and acting as soon as possible and we need your help.

Important information ( from RAD website)
An adult should make sure that the space is safe for these exercises and also assist their child to achieve the correct execution of these moves.
Any child participating must have a suitable parent/guardian present, or have their consent to participate in this activity. Given the nature of these activities, you participate at your own risk and should only do those activities that you consider safe for your own body and the space that you are working in. Before participating, please consider if you have enough clear space, that is free of obstacles and suitable to work in safely; that the floor surface is suitable to work on; and that you have footwear appropriate for that surface.
Have fun and stay safe everyone and please share with your class friends .
KH is currently open , however from Friday, 20 March after our evening classes we will close our doors to the public until further notice. It is with a very heavy heart but we must follow government guidelines particularly for our insurances.
The health and safety of our staff, students, visitors and the wider community is our primary concern. We are looking into the possibility of online classes particularly for our exam pupils if at all possible.
Anyone concerned about their health in relation to COVID-19 should follow Public Health England guidance and contact NHS 111 (or NHS 111 online) if the guidance advises them to do so.
During these worrying times we must keep strong and therefore to try to keep our spirits up, we’re asking everyone to share or direct message to our social media Facebook, Instagram and Twitter photos or videos of practising their dancing singing or acting from home. They need to be fun or seriously practising.
Stay safe everyone and here’s hoping we see you soon. Team KH.
