Some of the Kirkham Henry stories making the news in June

Who’s a clever girl!

Auntie Von entered one of her amazing tutus and has won first prize in the machine section of the Handicraft entries at Malton show today.

She also won the overall Handicrafts sections. Congratulations Auntie Von so well deserved.
Moving on!
Hi everyone, its Katy:))
So the time has come to leave Kirkham Henry after 14 years & further my dance training at a dance college. The dance college I will be attending in September is Creative Academy which is based in Slough (West London). I will be doing a two year foundation degree and then in my last year I will be doing a top up degree which means after my three years I will have a BA (Hons) degree in dance. Creative Academy is a fairly new college that I had only recently come across through my tutor at college & seeing their Move It piece which I loved! I can’t wait to start attending as I know I will enjoy it so much. I also gained a place at the MGA academy in Edinburgh. I am so sad to be leaving Kirkham Henry as I feel as though it is my second home but I know I will be coming back to say hi when I have time off college. Attending Kirkham Henry since I was younger has enabled me to create life long friendships with so many amazing individuals that I know I will be best friends with for life! Kirkham Henry has also had such a huge part in helping me grow into the dancer I am today and I will be forever grateful as I know that without the training I have received throughout the years I would not be going to Creative Academy in September. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the teachers at KH for giving me the training and lessons I needed to kickstart my dance career! I will miss everyone so much!!
love Katy xx
Wishing you all the very best Katy for your future career.
From All your KH family.
Hello everyone, Charlie here! I am here to update you on my future plans and my moving on story:) I am very sad to be leaving Kirkham Henry and i will be cherishing all the memories that i have made there over the past 14 years! So the time has come to finally move on and i am so happy to tell everyone that I will be moving to London to train at The Urdang Academy on a BA(Hons) degree course! I also got offered to train at Bird and LIPA after my auditions. Urdang has always been my dream and after seeing Rhiannon Williams go i have always wanted to train there. However, with my sister being there I didn’t want to get labelled as her little sister and I wanted to be my own individual self so there was a lot of debate on whether it would be a good move. At the end of the day I am my own unique person and it shouldn’t affect my dream of going to Urdang. Also, its nice to know that I have my sister out there for me whenever I am feeling homesick!! I am so excited to be starting my new journey in London in September. I want to say thank you to Kirkham Henry for making me the dancer I am today and I will miss everyone so much!
