The Nutcracker!

Here’s our lovely ballerinas from the Dance of the Merlitons ( Reed pipes ) Sophie - I’m enjoying learning the dance as the reed pipe looks like a caramel wafer 😱
Jess - the choreography is very advanced.
Maddison- it’s a very difficult dance but I’ll work hard to keep up with the others.
Issy - it’s hard using the prop as you change hands but I’m enjoying using it.
Tickets are now on sale for our performance of this magical children’s Christmas ballet Sunday 22nd December 2.30 matinee and 6.30 early evening click here. Please share with friends and family.

SUNDAY EVENING SMILES

Miss Angela here, what a beautiful evening at former pupil Kirsty Pritchard’s wedding held at the stunning Newburgh priory Coxwold. It’s so wonderful to be invited to weddings of former pupils even though I can’t make them all. Here’s Kirsty and Eliza , Kirsty who attended The Royal Ballet school at eleven years old and later Royal Academy of Dance is now teaching dance throughout London. Eliza is now producing for BBC Bristol from Natural history to podcasts. I also had the privilege to cuddle baby George seen here with his Mummy Sarah who is currently on maternity leave from teaching. It was lovely catching up with the girls and former Mums of Kirsty’s KH family. I was exceptionally proud when Kirsty’s mum Ali even mentioned our KH motivational saying of the 3 D’s during her speech. Dedication, Determination and Discipline - Which leads me in to wishing everyone at KH a great new term. See some of you tomorrow
End of term 'goings-on' at Kirkham Henry
Tutu Tuesday - Some of our fabulous Advanced ballet girls working hard in class in preparation for Showcase 2019
Not so much 'flaming June' but lots of sunshine at Kirkham Henry!

Malton & Norton District Lions

Huge thanks to Malton, Norton and district Lions club - We are absolutely thrilled to announce we have been awarded £400 towards training for our Dance4Dementia and neurological conditions classes. Due to the lack of accessible parking at KH we are desperately seeking an accessible venue where we can hold these feel good classes. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
In April 2016 Miss Angela was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship from Lions clubs international foundation for dedicated humanitarian services. (We believe the first ever non Lions member to do so. )KH continues with its inclusive services for the community thanks to the generous donations. All enquiries info@kirkhamhenry.co.uk
Lots going on in the merry month of May!

Just a few of the things that happened in a busy February!

Dance for Parkinsons

What a truly fabulous class this morning with our Dance for Parkinson’s participants. One of them commented “How blessed we all are to have each other.” As Dr. Heseltine one of the consultants highly recommends the class to his patients we are getting more members and if anyone would like to volunteer to help and come along to Wigginton any Friday morning, do let us know. Here’s some of our wonderful dancers having fun creating movement in groups.

Big thank you to Miss Nicky for organising everything and to our KH families for your support. Also Miss Kyla, Miss Joanne, Miss Angela and Mrs Wright for chaperoning. Here’s a message from Miss Nicky.
Miss Nicky here! I just wanted to say a massive thank you and well done to all our singers tonight. You were great and I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for all your hard work getting ready for the event. Also thank you to all my private singing lesson pupils for a great mini concert last night. So many of you stepped out of your comfort zone. It was very moving how you all
supported each other. Remember “if just one person believes in you...” I am super proud of you all!
