1st January 2024
Happy New Year everyone and how lovely to start the year off with a catch up from former pupil Charlie Armstrong.

Here’s Charlie’s update:
Hello everyone! Charlie here 🙂 Over the Christmas period I have been lucky enough to have been asked back to Wellingborough Panto at The Castle Theatre, where I performed last year. This years production was Cinderella and we performed a whopping 55 shows in a month. It was intense to say the least but I am so grateful to have been back performing on stage, reminding me why I do what I do. 2023 has been a year of training for me, getting even better at my craft so I am ready to take on 2024 full storm. I have also decided to go travelling for the first 3 months of the year, so bring on Central America! I hope you all have a lovely year and speak to you soon 🙂

Have a great 2024 Charlie from all at KH. ❤️

Sunday morning smiles- Here’s a brilliant update from Former pupil Kirstie who in her A level years was torn between dancing as a career or what she finally decided to do as a career.

Read on to find out what Kirstie ended up doing.

Hi miss Angela,
Kirstie here giving you a little update! After leaving Kirkham Henry I went to University of Leeds to study civil engineering with project management I am currently on my placement year working in industry and joining in with adult ballet.

Many of you might be thinking what is civil engineering? And I find it hard to explain but in my role as a site engineer my main job is to put the design from paper onto the site. I also take concrete samples to ensure concrete meets required strength, ensure things are being built correctly and helping out where I can!

I also do some paperwork stuff like putting permits in place, writing task briefings and writing diary’s of everything happening on site. I still keep up dancing as much as possible as it is still something that I love and will always be a part of my life.

Well done Kirstie x

Congratulations to Annie, Riley and Shonee for all gaining High Merit for their grade 5 RAD ballet examination. Huge thanks to Miss Kyla for preparing them for such a high exam and Miss Angela for supplementary training. Well done girls.

1st February 2024
We’re thrilled to announce that Maddison has gained Distinction for her grade 8 RAD ballet examination.

It’s an amazing result considering Mads first of all broke her ankle and couldn’t take her grade 8 when her class mates did. Then she sprained the same ankle ( all away from KH thankfully) Unusually Mads passed her Advanced 1 RAD exam held at Elmhurst Ballet School before her grade 8 due to the circumstances and timings.

Huge thanks to Miss Angela for expertly nurturing Mads back to fitness and strength having special coaching to get her back to full fitness. We’re so proud of you Mads and so glad your ankle held up as you appeared in this years MNMT panto as Tom the cat in Dick Whittington. Well done and congratulations.

Hi
I'm pleased to share that I have recieved an unconditional offer from the University of Salford to study on their BA (Hons) Media & Performance course! The course includes film and TV production, radio production, presenting, acting for camera, directing and producing to name a few of the many modules. The past year has been spent writing my application and gaining experience to add to it and I'm so glad it paid off (thanks to my amazing drama teachers!). I was delighted that my hard work was noticed when I was awarded the Drama and Performance award by Mr Lee and the Performing Arts team at Malton School. I'm sure that it will be a big change in September however I've already been eyeing up the theatre societies and opportunities I will get through the course, university and the location and I can't wait to see what happens next! Thank you to everyone who's supported me with this! 🎬🩷🎥
